Samsung AR Emoji gives users even more customisation options

Samsung are giving users even more customisation options in their latest AR Emojis update.
The new update, which should now be rolled out to S9 and S9+ smartphones, adds new security fixes and more sophisticated controls when customising your AR emoji.
The most noticeable addition is the new “My Emoji Editor”, which can be found in the top right section of the AR Emoji screen.
Tapping this option will bring up a character editor where you will be able to change facial features like your eyes, nose, lips and cheeks.
In a short demo video, Samsung shows how to change the skin tone of a character, how to change the width of the neck, how to change hairstyles and even how to change the orientation of the eyes.
With the new update, Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ users will also be able to experience even more accurate face tracking with a 65% increase in landmark detector points. This means that users can expect their messages using AR Emoji to be more accurate.
Finally, the application has also received a frame rate - meaning that messages using the AR emoji will be much smoother too.
It is suspected that the major updates to Samsung’s emoji application are in response to the pending release of Memoji; Apple’s own emoji creating application that is due for release sometime later this year in an iOS update.
With Memoji, iPhone and iPad users can create their own custom emoji characters and send messages featuring their Memoji - which is almost identical functionality to AR Emoji.
However, Samsung’s software did not release with customisation options - and some users argued that the AR Emoji characters were creepy.
